Sender IDs: common questions
What is a sender ID?+
It is the name that appears as the sender of an SMS, such as HILLVIEW-SCH, instead of a phone number. Alphanumeric sender IDs are usually up to 11 characters.
Which networks can I register on?+
You can apply for Safaricom, Airtel and Telkom from the dashboard and follow each one separately.
How much does a sender ID cost?+
Registration is KES 6,500 per network. Register on the networks your customers use, or on all of them so every message shows your name.
How do I apply?+
Open Sender IDs in your dashboard, choose Apply, fill in your details and pick the networks. You can check progress at any time from the same page.
